Our Impact

We believe the products we create should be made with care - not just for the people who use them, but for the people who make them and the world they'll eventually return to.

There is no such thing as a product without an environmental footprint. Instead of chasing perfection, we focus on making thoughtful decisions at every stage, from the natural fibres we choose to the way our products are manufactured, packaged and shipped.

Natural by Design

Silk has always been at the heart of our products because it's an extraordinary natural fibre.

The mulberry leaves that feed silk caterpillars are a renewable crop, with the trees producing new growth year after year before eventually being replaced after around eight years. Because silk caterpillars require clean, healthy leaves, no pesticides are used on the mulberry trees that feed them.

Silk fibres readily absorb dye, allowing them to be coloured using low-impact fibre reactive dyes. We also avoid unnecessary chemical treatments for properties such as anti-static, flame resistance and antibacterial performance because silk naturally offers many of these qualities.

As a natural protein fibre, silk is biodegradable at the end of its life.

Responsible Manufacturing

From the very beginning, we've partnered with the same family-owned business in Vietnam to craft every Silksak.

More than three decades later, that relationship remains one of the things we're most proud of. Built on trust, respect and a shared commitment to quality, it's a partnership that reflects our belief that the best products come from lasting relationships, not short-term decisions.

Everyday Choices

We're always looking for ways to reduce the impact of our packaging without compromising the protection of our products.

At our head office, cardboard and paper are recycled or reused wherever possible. Our boxes are produced from recycled cardboard, while our printed materials use paper sourced from responsibly managed forests and biodegradable inks.

Like everything we do, we believe small, thoughtful choices add up over time.

Sustainability isn't only about the products we make - it's also about how we run our business.
